Installation Considerations:
- Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt and other foreign materials.
- Priming: When applying Protecto Flex to masonry, concrete, black sheathing board, OSB products, or Dens-Glass Gold®, the surface should be tested for adhesion. If adequate adhesion is not obtained, the surfaces must be primed with a Protecto Wrap primer. Refer to the Protecto Wrap Technical Letter for primer recommendations.
- Application Method: Apply the horizontal piece of Protecto Flex on the top of the window fin directly to the building’s exterior substrate. Roll tape surfaces firmly to ensure proper adhesion.
- Limitations: Do not use any solvent-based sealant on or around Protecto Flex. Do not use in direct contact with flexible (plasticized) PVC. Protecto Flex Tape is recommended specifically for the curved and radius portion of windows and doors.
